Identity

Storyline

The film takes place across 60 years of the life of a man, left as a baby by his mother and raised by his grandmother. Hoping for a better life in the 1980s he left his native home in Belgium for Croatia where he lost his entire family during the war of the 1990s in the vicinity of Vukovar. Fleeing to Bosnia and Herzegovina, he joined the Bosnian Army, serving until being demobilized and finding a new place to call home. However, because of the Dayton Peace Agreement, he found himself lost again through bureaucracy and has spent the last 22 years living his life in a run-down shed, with no income, limited options and no valid identity.
